Question

Had a regular cold about 3 weeks ago. Everything else cleared up but I still have this dry cough that won't quit. Worse at night and when I talk a lot. No fever, no shortness of breath, I feel fine otherwise.

Context

I work in an open office so the coughing is getting embarrassing. Honey before bed seems to help a tiny bit.

If it's still going at the 8 week mark you should get checked, but most post cold coughs do go away on their own.

The open office coughing is the worst. I started keeping warm water with lemon at my desk and it helped a lot.

Had this last winter, post cold cough hung on for almost 6 weeks before fading. Honey before bed was the only thing that helped me sleep.
