Yep, and adding some cardio like easy jogs really speeds up the adjustment.

I walk my dog twice a day and I'm at a healthy weight. For the past couple months I've noticed I get really out of breath going up two or three flights of stairs and it takes me a minute to recover. I don't remember this being a problem before.
I moved to a higher altitude city about 4 months ago, went from sea level to about 5,000 feet.

Same thing happened to me when I moved to Denver. Took about 8 months before stairs felt normal again.

Altitude is real and 5000 feet is no joke. It can take 6 months or more to fully acclimate, especially if you came from sea level.
