Hmm it doesn't really bother me but I guess it won't hurt to get it checked and I'm probably due for a cleaning regardless

My lower front teeth started looking like this as I got older. I’m in my early 30s now. It doesn’t bother me, but I’m curious why this is happening. They used to straighter, and I didn’t even need braces as a child as my teeth are pretty straight. I was recommended Invisalign, but do I really need it? If it’s just for cosmetics, I rather not do it, but if you guys feel there’s some health benefit to fixing them, please let me know. Thank you!

Hey bam1994! I would have to see you to know for sure, but based on what you’ve said here, you’re likely experiencing a very common phenomenon called mesial drift. It happens to many people as we get older (one of the many benefits of aging)! As for whether you “have to” fix it, that’s a more nuanced question. The 2 main considerations are functional and esthetic. If the esthetics don’t bother you, that’s settled, but remember, it can get worse over time! More importantly, in my opinion, are the functional concerns. Are you able to clean between the teeth as well as before? Is your bite changing and causing damage? Are the teeth getting more tartar than before, which can lead to bone loss over time if not properly maintained. These are all important questions that we can discuss during a visit. In my office, we even have a digital scanner that can make a 3D model of your teeth and check your bite real time! Let me know if you need more info
