CAREIMO INC.
SECTION 1 – WHAT ARE COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
This Cookie & Tracking Technologies Policy (“Cookie Policy”) explains how CareIMO Inc. (“CareIMO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the CareIMO website (www.careimo.com), mobile applications for iOS and Android, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). This Cookie Policy supplements our Privacy Policy at www.careimo.com/privacy and our Terms of Service at www.careimo.com/terms. Where this Cookie Policy is silent, the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
1.1 Technologies We Use
The Services use the following types of tracking technologies:
SECTION 2 – HOW WE USE THESE TECHNOLOGIES
We organize cookies and tracking technologies into four categories based on their purpose. The categories below match those described in Section 11.4 of our Terms of Service.
2.1 Strictly Necessary
These technologies are essential for the Services to function. They enable core features such as user authentication, session management, security protections, and load balancing. Without these technologies, the Services cannot operate. Strictly necessary technologies cannot be disabled through our cookie preference center.
Examples include:
2.2 Functional
These technologies remember your choices and preferences to provide a more personalized experience. CareIMO currently stores user preferences (such as default feed sort, specialty selection, and display settings) on our servers rather than in cookies. If we introduce client-side preference storage in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated.
2.3 Analytics and Performance
These technologies help us understand how the Services are used, measure performance, and identify errors. CareIMO currently conducts analytics using our own internal systems and does not use third-party analytics tools. If we add third-party analytics services in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated to identify those services and the data they collect.
2.4 Advertising and Targeting
These technologies are used by our advertising partners to deliver relevant advertisements, measure advertising effectiveness, limit how often you see an ad, and build interest-based user profiles across websites and apps. CareIMO displays advertisements through Google AdSense (on our website) and Google AdMob (in our mobile applications).
As described in Section 6 of our Privacy Policy, CareIMO’s use of advertising cookies from Google AdSense and AdMob may constitute “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA/CPRA. You may opt out of advertising and targeting technologies as described in Section 6 of this Cookie Policy.
SECTION 3 – SPECIFIC TECHNOLOGIES BY PROVIDER
3.1 Google AdSense (Website)
Google AdSense places both first-party cookies on the CareIMO domain and third-party cookies from Google’s advertising domains (including doubleclick.net and google.com). These cookies are used for ad serving, frequency capping, conversion tracking, interest-based advertising, and fraud prevention. Known cookies include:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| __gads | Core ad serving and frequency capping | 13 months | First-party |
| __gpi | Publisher first-party identifier for programmatic ad buyers | 13 months | First-party |
| _gcl_au | Conversion tracking from ad clicks | 3 months | First-party |
| IDE | Retargeting and interest-based advertising | 13–24 months | Third-party |
| NID | Device identification and ad personalization | 6 months | Third-party |
| test_cookie | Checks whether the browser supports cookies | 15 minutes | Third-party |
The specific cookies set by Google’s advertising services, including their names and durations, may change as Google updates its products. For current information, visit Google’s cookie documentation at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies and Google’s advertising cookie directory at business.safety.google/adscookies/.
3.2 Google AdMob (Mobile Applications)
Google AdMob operates within our mobile applications through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. AdMob does not use browser cookies. Instead, the SDK may collect the following information from your device:
On iOS, the CareIMO app will present Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt before accessing your device’s advertising identifier. If you decline tracking, AdMob will not access your IDFA and will serve only contextual (non-personalized) advertisements. On Android, you may opt out of ad personalization through your device’s settings.
For more information about Google’s advertising practices, visit policies.google.com/privacy and adssettings.google.com.
3.3 Stripe (Payment Processing)
Stripe, our payment processor, sets cookies when you interact with payment features on the Services. These cookies are classified as strictly necessary because they are essential for processing payments and detecting fraud.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| __stripe_mid | Unique device identifier for fraud detection | 1 year | First-party |
| __stripe_sid | Session identifier for fraud detection | 30 minutes | First-party |
Stripe may also collect device characteristics and browsing signals for advanced fraud detection. Stripe does not use this data for advertising. For more information, see Stripe’s privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy and Stripe’s cookie policy at stripe.com/legal/cookies-policy.
3.4 Authentication (Session Management)
The Services use authentication tokens to maintain your login session. These tokens may be stored in browser local storage or cookies depending on your device and browser configuration. Authentication tokens are classified as strictly necessary and are used solely to verify your identity and maintain your active session. They are not used for advertising or tracking purposes.
3.5 Future Third-Party Services
CareIMO may add additional third-party services (such as analytics or performance monitoring tools) in the future. If we add services that set new cookies or use new tracking technologies, we will update this Cookie Policy before those services are deployed. A current list of cookies and tracking technologies active on the Services may be viewed through our cookie preference center.
SECTION 4 – WHAT DATA ADVERTISING TECHNOLOGIES COLLECT
4.1 Data Collected by Advertising Partners
As described in Section 6.2 of our Privacy Policy, information that may be collected by or shared with our advertising partners through cookies and mobile SDKs includes: cookie identifiers and similar tracking identifiers; mobile advertising identifiers (IDFA, GAID); device type and operating system; IP address; pages and screens visited; and interactions with advertisements (clicks, views, conversions).
4.2 Data Not Shared with Advertising Partners
CareIMO does not share the content of your health questions, answers, clinical images, provider search queries, or other health-related content with advertising partners. Advertising partners do not have access to your registration information (name, email, date of birth) unless you independently provide it to them. This is consistent with Section 6.2 of our Privacy Policy and Section 4.3 of our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
SECTION 5 – HEALTH DATA AND TRACKING
CareIMO is a health discussion platform. We take additional care regarding how tracking technologies interact with health-related content.
SECTION 6 – YOUR CHOICES
You have several options for managing cookies and tracking technologies on the Services.
6.1 Cookie Preference Center
You may manage your cookie preferences through our cookie preference center, accessible from the cookie consent banner displayed on your first visit to the website and from the footer of www.careimo.com at any time. The cookie preference center allows you to accept or reject non-essential cookie categories (functional, analytics, and advertising). Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled because they are required for the Services to function.
6.2 Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through browser settings, including blocking all cookies, blocking third-party cookies, and deleting cookies when you close your browser. If you block or delete cookies, some features of the Services may not function properly, and you may need to log in again. Consult your browser’s help documentation for instructions.
6.3 Mobile Device Settings
On mobile devices, you may control advertising tracking through your device’s operating system settings:
6.4 “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”
As described in Section 6.4 of our Privacy Policy, you may opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising by:
When you opt out, CareIMO will disable advertising and targeting cookies and direct advertising partners to stop personalized ad delivery for your browser or device. You will continue to see advertisements on the Services, but they will be contextual (based on the page you are viewing) rather than personalized (based on your browsing history across websites and apps).
6.5 Global Privacy Control
CareIMO honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals in accordance with applicable law. When we detect a valid GPC signal from your browser, we will treat it as a request to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for the associated browser or device. CareIMO does not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals, as there is no universally accepted standard for DNT compliance. This is consistent with Sections 11.5 and 11.6 of our Privacy Policy.
6.6 Google Ads Settings
You may manage your Google advertising preferences and opt out of personalized advertising from Google by visiting adssettings.google.com. You may also visit the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out page at optout.aboutads.info to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies.
6.7 Impact of Disabling Cookies
If you disable or reject cookies and tracking technologies, the following effects may occur:
SECTION 7 – CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the tracking technologies we use, the addition of new third-party services, or changes in applicable law. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and last-updated date at the top of this policy and provide notice through the Services.
We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically. A current list of cookies and tracking technologies active on the Services is maintained in our cookie preference center.
SECTION 8 – RELATIONSHIP TO OTHER CAREIMO POLICIES
